Eye Hook with edges painted - Ready for the wall!

Built for my iNVASiON art installation at Twilight Artist Collective in April 2009. iNVASiON explores the idea of over-population, saturation, and the dynamics between individual identity versus the selfhood gained and lost, when one becomes part of a union. The mustachio boxes, each having individual personalities, that when view together in this overpopulation become something all together different.

THIS PIECE IS HUGE, SEATTLE PICK UP OR DELIVERY ONLY

Mixed Plate, Photo Shoot & New Stationary

Three Events of Radness:

Mixed Plate BLOG: Liana wrote about my recycled wood art installations. It is such a sweet write-up, I love the way she writes and what she has to say. I would recommend following it on a regular bases. Check it out: mixedplateblog.com

New Stationary: Well on my way to release my new ocean drawing and biked themes on cards and our mini journals. They look pretty sweet. Pumped to see more color. They will be posted on my website for sale shortly.

Photo Shoot: Todays photo shoot went very well. The kids that came out to model were amazing, lucky to have them. Oh, and the two photographers were Trisha and Robin. Seattle based photographers that are amazing. If you have photo needs, check out their sites - they rule. The photo shoot was for the new Ocean and Bike artwork. All the new product will be posted on the web site soon. For the bike shirts we put together a triple track stand what was sweet.

Addison Art Project - 2008: Book Cover

I'm nearly done with my book: Addison Art Project - 2008. Here is the cover artwork for it; it has gone through a lot of changes over the past 5-6 months since I started working on this. This book is going to be self published until I can shop it around for a publisher that I would like to print and carry this book.

I have done this every year for the past three years. In the past these have been smaller, zine like and super DIY. This year, I have so many drawings I wanted to do a full on perfect bound book and have a release party for it. I'm currently working on the release party location & date. But trust me, it will be awesome. I'm proud to say this book will have a bit more then just my drawings. There is some very personal writing in it, along with BLOG entries, write-ups and other various sources. The chapters are broken up in to months. A lot of cropping is used.

Recycled Wood Art Installations - Mega Large Format Drawings

Nifty photo shoot today in the woods with some large format art installations. The best back drop ever in my opinion. So green, so lush. The contrast between the black and white drawings looked perfect. The animals seemed to fit in their home as well.

These pieces are now for sale on Partybots.org! Hope you love and enjoy them as much as I do.

Let's Make This Easy...

In the pursuit of making things better and easier I have made a pretty solid change to the navigation on Partybots.org.

All my artwork is broken up in to categories now based on themes. I have so many different drawing options you can choose from (mainly because I'm a strong believer in "choose your own adventure") that it was hard to find what was what. Now, you can choose between the following categories to make your life easier and better:

Animals
Bikes
Bizarro & Weird
Comics
Karl Addison's Favorites
Miscellaneous
Robots
Accessories
Art
Stationary

Orange Invasion Mustache Boxes - 24 x 36 Inch - Original Acrylic Hand Painting

Titled: Orange Invasion Mustache Boxes
Dimensions: 24 x 36
Date: 2009
Medium: Acrylic on gallery stretched cotton canvas (staples are on back, not on sides).

Gallery wrapped canvas with edges painted - Ready for the wall!

Part of my iNVASiON series of works. Mustachio boxes getting ready to mass together. Orange and Brown are my favorite colors. I'm in love with the negative space used in the upper right corner of this. The little mustachio boxes run off their edges and wrap around the canvas.

idrawalot.com - we re-done it

As this happens, and I knew it would a long time ago. I re-did my idrawalot.com website. Narrowed it down to a good 40 selection of my work. The re-tooled purpose is to start submitting my illustrations and drawings to Getty Images. I draw so much, they jut lay around collecting dust in my archival books. It would be mega sweet to be picked up, and have my work utilized a bit more to start making royalties off them.  Plus, this is a much cleaner look to get an idea of my work and ability to put ink to paper (for better or worse).

Has some rad features like my BLOG, and my Store is now on the site for your shopping and viewing pleasure.

True Romance - Seattle Bike Ride Now AVAILABLE!

NOW AVAILABLE FOR SALE: True Romance - Seattle Bike Ride

Hop on your bicycle, take a date out and go ride around. It could be in town, it could be to a park, it could be a-get-away on your bike. The point is, bikes are fun and so is could company. So mix the two. I drew this inspired by the 1940s advertising era. I added a few modern touches to it to bring it up to the current times. I'm kind of love with it, as much as the concept and composition. Enjoy this drawing, enjoy your bike go on a date and create some romance.

New artwork, finished as of yesterday (May 5th 2009). I'm really happy with this, in fact I printed my film positive this morning and burned my screen shortly afterwards. It's going in to production and will be available for sale. Need to print and take some photos for product shots.

Hope you love it, I sure as hell do.

Its a passion, its a love affair

I'm addicted to making my environment a place I want to look at and live in. My eyes are dying with all the advertising everywhere I look from major corporations. I want to look at something else for a change, I want to look at a piece of art on the streets in the most random of places. I want art to interact with their environment, change the way folks view their neighborhoods. I want a reason to look up or down the street instead of at my feet.

These are the text messages I want to receive: Brandon - "Just saw a giant bubba on pine and summit. Good work my friend. Good Work. It turned several heads on the bus I was on."

That is why I do what I do.
