Featured on Pop! Goes the Icon BLOG

Just came across this little gem of a BLOG. Thanks for the write-up! It is a cool BLOG on geek culture and comics. If you check out some of the previous posts there is a great little write-up on the possibility of "Tetris: The Movie?" and this youtube video of a "geek goddess" talking about current comics.

"Uh, is there anyone who doesn't love robots? And T-shirts? Click the above image to check out more works by Karl Addison available over at Etsy."

Partybots Artwork available at Etchstar.com!

I can't even tell you how stoked I'm to announce this. For a few months I have been working with this great company called Etchstar.com. You can now go to their website and purchase things like iPods, iMacs, Moleskines, etc... then have my original drawings etched on to the product.

First and foremost, I'm all for being a cognizant consumer. You can either purchase one of the products straight from their site, then add my artwork. Or, you can even send your goodies to them, and they can etch on it. It adds a uniquely artistic and cultured touched to something that you will use everyday.

Lots of new Drawings!

I was thinking about how I have not had a whole lot of time to draw lately. Some of these drawings have been sitting next to my scanner for a few weeks now. Last night was the first chance I got to work on this a little bit. I started a new Obese American series of illustrations and drawings. Those drawings are below, a little brutal - but there is a lot of truth in it.

As always - enjoy the art!

Design Festa - Designer Profile: PARTYBOTS

Just came across this BLOG from a friend I met at Design Festa. Take a look at it: Click here

Thanks a lot Jason for the article!

Back from Tokyo!

Today is my second Wednesday. How is that possible, well it is easy... I'm a time traveler. There was a lot to this trip. Both in very good and amazing ways that will change the way I view the world forever. And of course very upsetting and frustrating things that happened. Being there, I quickly felt ill-prepared and very naive.

Design Festa was the main reason I went. The show was incredible from the stand point of its production value, the other artist there and the shear size. As for my business, I did not do well. The little Japanese I know was not near enough to explain me art to anyone. Speaking in broken Japanese and English for two days was one of the most mentally exhausting things I have ever done. I can not even tell you how much we take advantage of the ability to communicate with each other.

Japanese culture is one of the most beautiful and polite cultures I have been exposed to. The folks that I did meet and talk to were so very nice and pleasant. On my last night I was finally able to socialize a lot and that night was the best for me. I also met some really amazing folks from all over the world. The girl below with me is from Finland and she was very sweet, as were all the people I talked to.

The art scene there was everywhere. But not as we think of it here in the US. Street art is just part of the natural landscape of the city. There were paintings almost everywhere. At Design Festa I purchased a few different paintings - one is the below picture with the yellow background and an amazing painted illustrated style. The colors were bold, line work was incredible and subject matter was border line strange with a twist of "kawaii." The signs everywhere had an amazing art undertone as well. Even the ones about safety.

It was an incredible trip, and one that I learned a lot from. It is a different game that I have been playing from a business standpoint. One that I will play again for sure in the future, but I have a lot more to learn in order to be successful over there.

New Product: V-Necks & New Art

Partybots is stoked to showcase our new TNT Mob artwork. This little rascal is a two color print, with an Alligator, Elephant, and a bunch of other folks all holding TNT in their hands. They are part of this series that I have been working on for an upcoming art show I have. One of those drawings that just had to get printed right away. The photo shows brown, but of course you can get it printed on anything that you want.

I'm declaring this "Summer of V-Necks." V-Necks are great for both guys, and girls that don't like your typical tight crew neck. They look awesome, and give a great confidence booster... kind of like mustaches. Below are some that I have pre-printed. You are more then welcome to order any of our artwork on a v-neck.

We got Labels, and a new friend!

Here is another little project that is well on it's way. After months of research, sourcing companies and so on, I made a decision to print and sew my labels in-house. I'm proud to announce that the label fabric is 100% Organic Cotton. It is a super soft knit, and has a nice cream natural color. I'm printing on the labels then having them sewn in by Nicole, our new sewing captain... I really need to think of a rad title for her. We are glad to have her.

Hooray, we have our own private label!

Illustrations from New York

I got to draw a lot while I was in New York which was pretty awesome. In general it is hard to draw on trips. The NASCAR drawing was done one evening after coming home from a night out. The two TNT Mob groups are for a show I have coming up. In addition to these three, my friend Jodi took me to a figure drawing event. Those drawings will be posted on idrawalot.com within a month or so.

Enjoy!
